About Managed Detection and Response
MDR is a security service where expert operators monitor, investigate, and respond to threats in your environment 24/7. With Accelerynt, that team works inside your existing Microsoft tools, hunts for hidden threats, and contains attacks before they cause damage.
MDR and SOC operations serve different functions. SOC as a Service provides operational coverage: monitoring, SIEM management, configuration governance, and compliance reporting. MDR adds proactive threat hunting, incident investigation, and rapid containment. With Accelerynt, MDR also includes finding and fixing configuration gaps and working inside your own tools. We offer both services separately.
Most MDR providers require a proprietary platform that moves your data to their cloud. We operate inside your Microsoft tenant through Azure Lighthouse. Your data never leaves, you see everything we do, and everything we build is yours. We also monitor for configuration drift, which most providers don’t address.
Yes. We work inside the Microsoft tools you already own, with no agents and no separate platform. Our technology partners, including Edgescan, Fortinet, Mimecast, and Zscaler, are integrated with the Microsoft environment. We also show you where other tools overlap with what your Microsoft licenses already include, so you can decide what to keep.
MDR pricing varies by environment size, coverage scope, and service level. Accelerynt provides predictable pricing with no hidden costs. We also identify overlapping security tools in your environment that can be consolidated, which often reduces your overall security spend.
Working Inside Your Microsoft Tenant
Defender and Sentinel generate alerts, enforce policies, and collect telemetry. Our team investigates those alerts, tunes the rules, hunts for threats the rules miss, and responds when something is found. We provide the human expertise inside your existing tools.
Yes. Our team works inside your own Sentinel workspace through Azure Lighthouse, and your security team controls the permissions and can adjust them at any time. Detection rules, playbooks, and configurations live in your workspace, so both teams work in the same environment toward the same baseline.
Yes. Detection rules live in your own Sentinel workspace, and your team has full access to everything in it, including every rule we build. We also adjust our detection logic based on your team’s knowledge of normal activity in your environment.
Yes. We work inside your Sentinel workspace, so you see everything we see. Detection rules, tuning changes, and response actions are all visible in your own tenant. Our playbooks are published on GitHub.
Azure Lighthouse is a secure management layer built into Microsoft Azure that allows our team to operate in your environment without possessing your credentials. Your security team defines the permission scope during onboarding and can review, adjust, or revoke access at any time. All actions taken through Lighthouse are logged in your tenant’s activity records.
Detection, Response, and Reporting
We commit to detection within 30 minutes. For threat types your team pre-approves, containment runs immediately inside your tenant. Customers with approved response protocols also get a contractual containment time, as set out on our Stages and Guarantees page.
We contain them. Before an incident, your team and ours agree on the threat types that authorize us to act, such as isolating a confirmed compromised host. We document every action with what was found, how access was gained, what we did, and what your team should review.
When our team identifies a confirmed threat, we act based on the response protocols your team agreed to during onboarding. You receive documented notification of every action taken, including what was found, what we did, and what your team should review. For pre-approved threat types, containment executes immediately inside your tenant.
We tune your Sentinel analytics rules with your team’s input on normal activity and build automated suppression for false positives at the source. Our published commitment is a noise escalation rate under 1%, so your analysts focus on incidents that need action.
Executives receive a quarterly maturity briefing with trend analysis and recommendations, backed by monthly operational reports on what was addressed and what changed. We also provide compliance-ready evidence mapped to NIST CSF, HIPAA, SOC 2, and MITRE ATT&CK.
Engagement Stages and Your Team’s Role
At Stage 1, your team provides Azure Lighthouse access and works with ours for 30 days to establish your baseline. At Stage 2, your team approves response protocols that grant our team containment authority. At Stage 3, your team commits time to work with ours on risk reduction. Each stage has defined requirements. We review them with your team before the engagement begins.
Before Stage 2 begins, your team and ours agree on specific threat types that authorize our team to act immediately without waiting for approval. For example: if a host is confirmed compromised, we isolate it. That pre-authorization is what allows our team to contain an incident without waiting for approval. You define the scope. We operate within it.
Yes. The guarantee timelines are floors, not ceilings. How fast you move depends on the complexity of your environment and your team’s availability. Most organizations move faster when their team is engaged in the process.
Our detection rules map to MITRE ATT&CK techniques, and our work supports monitoring and incident response requirements for NIST CSF, HIPAA, and SOC 2. Compliance is broader than MDR, but we provide the documented evidence auditors look for in detection, response, and configuration management.
